Afflecks is a huge, sprawling shopping conglomerate situated off Piccadilly Gardens, bordered by Tib, Oldham and Church Streets. There are lots of shops of varying legality and taste here, but most notably:
First Floor, Afflecks Palace, Manchester
Rather expensive, but good quality clothes, wigs and fetish gear. Jodi got her wigs here, and they do cybertechnomuppety UV-glowing collars. There's normally a discount rack, but even that costs a fair amount.
Situated right at the heart of Manchester's city center, and occupying most of it, the Arndale is a shopper's haven, with many high-street stores present. More gothly stuff can be found in the market. To quote Fleetie:
"For tights, go to the Arndale market, downstairs floor. The lady there is very nice and it's all very cheap. As long as you don't want anything too fancy. There's also the "Hot Shop" upstairs in the market which has the more fetishy or alternative stuff."
Situated between Afflecks and the Arndale, the Coliseum is a similar sized (if slightly smaller) shopping gestalt threatening to overwhelm the unwary with its maze of shops. Of particular note are:
First Floor, the Coliseum
Morpheus: "The gothic horror shop in the Coliseum, run by Gary, one of the nicest goths you will ever meet. He knows personally or knows of most goths in Manchester. Also a good contact, since he helps organise the Vampire Society, and his shop sells coffins. Cool."
Bats has just moved to the premises next-door, and is truly emporium-sized! Well worth a look in, whatever you're after, and Gary keeps info / membership forms for the Manchester Vampire Society in the shop. And he is a lovely bloke! If you pop in, tell him we sent you :-)
Situated just next door to Bats, Elysia sell an interesting range of gothy clothes, slightly bog-standard goffgear, well worth a peek.

New Aeon has a reputation for being one of the UK's finest occult bookstores, and having looked around, it's not hard to see why. The shop is always a hive of activity, and the excellent Kallisti Cafe provides nourishment for the body as does the reading matter for the spirit. The New Aeon crew also organise a wide variety of occult goings-on in Manchester, often in their function room above the shop. It's a great place to go to browse the shelves and flick through the books over a nice, huge mug of coffee!
They've got a website here and e-mail. Do us a favour, and tell 'em that we sent you!
