Song for the Lovers

Music is a part of the lives of most people I know, whether they're musicians, DJs, gig promoters or just fans. It's incredible how readily a piece of music etches indelibly into our brains, linking to the times we heard it. The Horatii reminds me of long nights playing Alpha Centauri; David Bowie is the sound of revision for my second year exams.

While at Satan's Hollow in Manchester, a track with strong emotional ties came on. It was one of mine and the Scary Ex's songs, and I've been unable to listen to it for a while. However, on this listening, it didn't have the same effect on me - I didn't run crying for a convenient dark quiet corner. I realised that I shouldn't let a good song be ruined by a bad memory, and I went and danced like a crazy bastard, thinking of the Evil Harridan all the while.

Only a few hundred more personal problems to go, then ;-)
